There are many other ways that the Department of Education offers financial assistance for college. Here are a few others:

  • Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grants

Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.   • Jacob Javits Doctoral and Master of Fine Arts Graduate Fellowships in Selected Fields of the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences

This program provides fellowships to students of superior academic ability—selected on the basis of demonstrated achievement, financial need, and exceptional promise—to undertake study at the doctoral and Master of Fine Arts level in selected fields of arts, humanities, and social sciences.[click here ... ]

  • Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need: IEGPS

This program provides fellowships, through academic departments and programs of IHEs, to assist graduate students with excellent records who demonstrate financial need and plan to pursue the highest degree available in their course study at the institution in a field designated as an area of national need.[click here ... ]
